Bee Cave Road AI traffic signals



Project: West Lake Hills will install nine artificial intelligence traffic signals along Bee Cave Road to try and improve traffic efficiency along the corridor.



Update: City Council moved forward with funding the traffic signals April 22.

    Funding source: city tax revenue proceeds, general fund


    FM 812 enhancements



    Project: The project will widen 9.5 miles of FM 812 in Bastrop from two undivided lanes to four divided lanes, realign a 1.5-mile stretch between US 183 and FM 973 near William Cannon Drive to eliminate an S-curve, add a shared-use path and sidewalks, improve drainage, and upgrade guardrail and barrier standards on five bridges.



    Update: Per county officials, right-of-way acquisition and utility work are underway, with completion anticipated by early 2027.

      Cost: $145 million
      Funding source: Texas State Highway Fund

      High Road project



      Project: Road construction will widen the existing two-lane road in Kyle to a four-lane divided roadway with a center turn lane and shoulders on both sides of the road. The project includes the design, utility coordination, and right-of-way acquisition, or ROWs. Construction is not currently funded.



      Update: On April 28, Hays County commissioners approved the selection of Lockwood, Andrews and Newnam Inc. to provide right-of-way acquisition for the project in Precinct 1.

      • Timeline: design 2026-27, ROW acquisition 2027, utility coordination 2027-28, construction (not funded)
        Cost: $8.4 million
        Funding source: Hays County COs

        Ongoing projects



        183 North Mobility Project



        Project: The project features two express lanes in each direction on US 183 in Austin, a general-purpose lane to bring the number of nontolled lanes to four in each direction, new shared-use path connections, new sidewalks and cross-street connections for bicycles and pedestrians.



        Update: According to the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, crews are working to complete concrete surface grinding and paving along the main lanes, with lane closures beginning at 8 p.m. Work is expected to last throughout the summer.

        • Timeline: 2022-26
          Cost: $612 million
          Funding source: federal funding, sale of toll revenue bonds

          Bell District shared-use path



          Project: Construction is underway on a 10-foot-wide, concrete shared-use path in Cedar Park connecting 183A Toll to Bell Park along Brushy Creek Road. It will connect two existing paths at both locations.


          Update: Construction is complete from South Bell Boulevard to South Mustang Avenue, and will move through South Cougar Avenue. Eastbound lanes remain open.

          • Timeline: 2025-26
            Cost: $2.5 million
            Funding source: 2022 transportation bond

            Ronald Reagan Boulevard lane widening



            Project: The project will widen approximately 7 miles of roadway in Leander, from FM 3405 to Hwy. 29, including separated northbound and southbound roadways.


            Update: Per county officials, construction is underway.

            • Timeline: August 2024-summer 2027
              Cost: $52.4 million
              Funding source: Williamson County 2019 road bond
