NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — A fugitive wanted for attempted murder and other violent charges is now in custody after a multi-county manhunt in Central Texas, according to the FBI San Antonio division.

According to a post shared by FBI San Antonio on X, Jesse Lang was wanted by the Denver Police Department for attempted murder and other violent charges, as well as by the Edinburg Police Department for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Authorities said the suspect fled on foot at one point, triggering a response from agencies across multiple counties.

The search ultimately ended with what officials described as a coordinated felony vehicle stop along Interstate 35 near New Braunfels.

In the social media post, the FBI described the suspect as “violent” and “dangerous,” adding: “No escape. No safe haven.”

Investigators say members of the FBI Central Texas Violent Crimes Task Force worked alongside several law enforcement agencies to track down the suspect.

The FBI said the arrest happened this week as part of “Operation No Escape,” a multi-agency effort focused on tracking down violent fugitives.

The FBI also thanked several agencies that assisted in the arrest, including the Austin Police Department, Texas DPS, Travis County Sheriff’s Office and Hays County Sheriff’s Office.
