On demand transit solutions in New Braunfels, Texas

Including ridehailing service and public transportation options

New Braunfels' Ride the Rio program has rapidly become a cornerstone of the city's public transportation system, offering residents a flexible and affordable on-demand transit option.

Since its launch in November, the service has provided over 30,000 rides, reflecting its immediate popularity among the community.

Operating seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Ride the Rio allows passengers to book shared van rides via a smartphone app or by phone, ensuring accessibility for all users.

Fares are set at $4 per ride, with discounted rates of $2 available for seniors, veterans, students, and individuals with disabilities.

The service area encompasses most of New Braunfels, providing comprehensive coverage for residents.

Given the program's overwhelming success, city officials are considering expanding the fleet to meet the growing demand.

Additionally, plans are underway to establish a central transit hub at the city's visitor center, aiming to further enhance the efficiency and reach of public transportation in New Braunfels.

As the city continues to grow, initiatives like Ride the Rio play a crucial role in ensuring that residents have reliable and convenient on-demand transit options.
